STUDIES OF THE INFLUENCE OF THE SURFACTANT SODIUM DODECYL SULFATE ON THE FLUORESCENCE PROPERTIES OF KINETIN

A detailed study of the influence of an anionic surfactant(sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS) on the fluorescence properties of kinetin with NaHSO3 at pH 1.4-2.4 (lambda(ex) = 325 nm, lambda(em) = 500 nm) has been undertaken. In the presence of SDS, the fluorescence intensity is 9.5 times greater that in its absence. The detection limit for kinetin is 0.21 ng ml(-1), and the calibration graph is linear over the range of 0.21-4000 ng ml(-1). [References: 7]
