BW writes down Africa FPSOs over contract fears

BW Offshore has written off nearly US $60m on its FPSO val-ues because of uncertainty of future contracts. The impairment is in the value of three of its vessels in-cluding the Berge Helene which was off Mauritania on the Chinguetti feld for Petronas and the Espoir Ivoirien which is on the Espoir feld off C?te d’Ivoire for Canadian Natural Resources International (CNRI). “The impairments refect continued uncertainty around rede-ployment and extension for certain older units in the feet. The uncertainty is tied to the current market volatility and future development of oil prices, and also considering increased fo-cus on energy transition,” BW Offshore said.
