Nigerian Preowei boost on Egina OPEC hopes

Total’s production limit on the Egina feld off Nigeria - one of the issues that has delayed the development of the nearby Preowei feld - could be over by next quarter with partner Africa Oil Corp (AOC) saying it is also looking to buy more producing assets. AOC spent US $520m on buying out Petrobras from Nigeria and this came with a stake in OML 130 including Egina, Pre-owei and Akpo. Three groups were competing on the FEED for the Preowei tie-back project: Aker/Saipem, TechnipFMC and Subsea 7/One-Subsea. Production was to peak at around 65,000 b/d and be tied back to the Egina FPSO to counteract declining output there.
