Boru leads for Anadarko Ghana stakes

Carlyle backed Boru Energy is now in pole position to take over Anadarko’s former interests in Tullow’s deepwater felds off Ghana for a price said to be just over US $500m. Boru is headed by Tullow founder Aidan Heavey and former chief fnancial offcer Tom Hickey. Carlyle – the world’s larg- est private equity fund – is backing them to the tune of $1 Bn in their hunt for non-operated stakes in producing acreage in sub-Saharan Africa.
