BP and Sonangol give and take in Angolan Block 18

BP and Sonangol have completed a trade in Block 18 off Angola with the Platina project getting its final investment decision while the UK major gave up a stake in the block in return for an extension on one of its developments. The Valaris DS-12 drillship actually started work on Platina last year but BP and Sonangol signed an agreement related to the project earlier this month. Sonangol recently said it is trying to progress another phase of the Platina project with BP which would see a final investment decision in 2023.
