Perenco pre-empts ahead of Gabon shallow appraisal

Perenco has used its right of pre-emption to take up Sasol's stake in a block off Gabon that was due to go to VAALCO ahead of a US $20m shallow water appraisal well this year. While VAALCO has concluded its $44m deal to buy out Sasol's stake in the Etame Marin acreage off the country that it already operates, Perenco used its own right of pre-emption to take the 40% held by Sasol in the DE-8 block.
