Shell asks for updated Bonga SWA prices

Shell has contacted the remaining FPSO contenders for its Bonga Southwest Aparo (BSWA) project off Nigeria asking them to update pricing ahead of commercial bids fnally being opened after a new PSC agreement was signed. As previously exclusively revealed by AOG (see 18 March), after years of negotiations NNPC wrote to Shell on February 24 offering an extension to the PSC until January 15, 2041 for a price of a little over US $446m, along with the payment of all outstanding debts. OML 118 was due to expire in 2023 and Shell was understandably unwilling to commit billions of dol- lars without an extension. The payment had to be made within 90 days – May 25.
