Tullow exploration era ends with a whimper with Namibia surrender

Tullow’s history as an active explorer off Africa fnally came to an end with the company handing back the last acreage where it drilled a frontier wildcat – off Namibia. The UK independent was once known as a swashbuckling explorer off West Africa but its last operated well was the Cor- morant well off Namibia in 2018 and before this it was a failed two well programme off Mauritania in 2014. Following the lat- ter, it faced ever growing demands from investors that it cut spending and reduce debt.
