Battle for Nigerian deep Ogo feld starts again

The battle for ownership of the giant deepwater Ogo feld off Ni- geria has been resurrected with operator Optimum trying to eject minority partner Lekoil for failure to meet cash commitments. UK minnow Lekoil has a history of failures relating to OPL 310 and the 774m boe Ogo discovery. A multi-year legal battle to take over Afren’s near 23% interest in the block ended in failure in 2019 with Optimum writing to the Department of Pe- troleum Resources accusing Lekoil of “technical and financial incompetence”.
