Liberia drops round for direct talks

Liberia has given up on its licensing round and has instead opted to offer all of its 33 offshore blocks through direct negotiation.The government optimistically opened the fourth licensing round offering nine blocks in the frontier Harper Basin last April.By July,the Liberia Petroleum Regulatory Authority had made"significant"adjustments including easing signature bonus and 2D seismic purchase requirements.It carried on and shortlisted domestic companies that would partner foreign firms but earlier this month gave up.
