BW Energy is looking at a potential tie-back with frst oil in 2024 after a new discovery in Gabon. The company is drilling the Hibiscus North prospect around 6km from the existing Hibiscus discovery in 375ft (115m) of water. It is targeting 10m to 40m bbl of recoverable oil in two formations. The Borr Norve jack-up has now successfully encountered around 45ft (14m) of oil reservoir in the Upper Gamba formation and is drilling to the secondary target in the deeper Dentale formation. This will be followed by logging and a side-track will then be drilled.
