New VAALCO leadership to accelerate growth

West Africa focused independent VAALCO is to “update its strategic focus” after a change in its leadership. Chief executive Cary Bounds is leaving immediately “to pursue other interests” and George Maxwell - founder of for- mer Nigeria specialist Eland - who only joined VAALCO last year, is to take his place. Maxwell was recently part of a board- room coup in another Nigeria specialist – Lekoil – although he will now give up his job there to focus on VAALCO.
