Samsung and KSOE grab 17 LNG vessels for Mozambique

South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) have concluded contracts for 17 LNG vessels worth around US $4 Bn linked to Total's Mozambique LNG project. KSOE - the parent of Hyundai Heavy Industries - has secured nine LNG carriers for its Ulsan yard, while Samsung has added eight. The contracts follow on from letters of intent signed in March (see AOG 5 March).
