Sasol PSA tendering in earnest as domestic lists unveiled

Tendering is expected to start this quarter after Sasol released the long list of contracts which are reserved for local frms for it PSA project in Mozambique. The South African frm holds the Production Sharing Agree-ment (PSA) licence in Inhambane province which contains light oil and gas. Originally it was drilling 13 wells as part of the US $1.4 Bn PSA project and at one point had even hoped to need an FSO offshore for the oil (see AOG 25 August 2016). However, during development drilling there was a signifcant reduction in the estimates of light oil in place and recoverable by 41% and 94% respectively, and an increase of about 68% in the recoverable natural gas resources.
