MODEC and Toyo talking FPSO alliance

MODEC and compatriot Toyo Engineering are looking to form an alliance for FPSO vessels. The Japanese pair have executed a Memorandum of Under- standing (MoU) to enter into discussions and to conduct a feasi- bility study regarding the alliance in the Engineering, Procure- ment, Construction and Installation (EPCI) business for FPSOs. The companies said they may potentially ally before the end of the year. The pair have been collaborating on the topside EPC scopes for several FPSO projects over the last 15 years. They said they expect further synergies from more comprehensive collabo- ration which covers a full range of EPCI business, including hulls.
