Kosmos launches hunt for deep giants off Mauritania and Senegal

Kosmos has begun the four well exploration programme off Senegal and Mauritania that is chasing true giants. Previous drilling campaigns off Mauritania in particular by a series of operators have generally led to high hopes being dashed. Kosmos believes its greater understanding of the geology puts the chance of finding oil or liquids gas for each of the wells at an extremely healthy 33% to 66%.
