New Age is expected to award the SBM consortium the FLNG contract for its Etinde project off Cameroon and potentially for work off Congo Brazzaville in the fi rst half of next year. Development costs are said to have been slashed for both projects thanks to extra Chinese involvement in the SBM consortium. The government of Cameroon is finally believed to have agreed to an FLNG project for gas from Etinde as long as adequate supplies are routed for domestic use. Until recently it was arguing that most of the gas should be used for domestic use with anything left over available for export. New Age took over operatorship of the shallow water Etinde block in 2015 and has been prioritising an FLNG project similar to the Marine XII scenario off Congo Brazzaville.
