摘要

Eni has started the hunt for extra gas to supply the LNG plant in the shallow waters off Angola ahead of two commitment wells. The company took over Block 1/14 through a risk service contract with Sonangol in late 2019. The block is in the Lower Congo Basin and originally held the Quiluma and Maboqueiro gas discoveries but these have been hived off into a separate development lease that will pro-vide supply to counteract dwindling feedstock for the Angola LNG plant at Soyo. According to Sonangol, Quiluma has re-serves of 756 Bcf of gas while Maboqueiro holds 402 Bcf. Exploration in the acreage started back in 1974 when Texaco started work and since then a total of 25 wells have been drilled with a number of discoveries although the only producing feld has been the Safueiro oil fnd in the northeast of the acreage.
