A CENTURY OF AGRICULTURE IN THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY

Les Copeland is Emeritus Professor of Agriculture in the University of Sydney. He has published extensively in agricultural science and has been the primary mentor for 34 PhD students. Les is a Director of the Australian Government Cotton Research andDevelopment Corporation, and Editor-in-Chief of the journals Cereal Chemistry (Wiley) and Agriculture (MDPI). He is a former Dean of Agriculture and was the Foundation President of the Australian Council of Deans of Agriculture. Les has BSc (Hons) and PhD degrees from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has held research positions in the USA at Yale University, the University of Buffalo, and the University of California in Davis, and atthe Australian National University. He is a Fulbright Alumnus and the recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award from the American Association of Cereal Chemists-International. He was awarded a Membership of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Queen'sBirthday 2019 Honours "for significant service to agricultural science as an academic and researcher".
