Lead – Market still tighter than that of zinc

While we are not able to quantify differences in the tightness between the markets for zinc concentrate andlead concentrate, we are again hearing comments about just how much tighter the latter is. And, while this iscurrently evident from conditions in the spot market in China, wider global market tightness is apparent fromthe fact that smelter capacity utilisation is less than 100%, and lead mine supply is being disrupted notably.
