摘要

Rocky Top doesn't show on most maps of Hamden but stands as perhaps the most important landmark in the history of the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails. It's the site of a cabin on the wooded traprock ridge where retired minister Edgar Laing Heer-mance brought his family in the late 1920s. Mr. Heermance marked a path through die woods there, the Quinnipiac Trail, the first of the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails managed by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association through a cadre of volunteers.
