My name is Jeremy, I am the technical manager of a medium-sized battery manufacturer, producing around one million industrial lead-acid batteries per year. We produce mostly AGM and GEL monoblocs, both six and 12 volts, with a small number of 2-volt flat plate cells. The capacities range from 7Ah to 25oAh with a mean average of i3oAh in a normal year. We have ball mill oxide and operate computer controlled curing ovens with steam humidity; we finish manufacture with single shot, automatic, container formation. The grids are a produced using rolled strip for the negatives and gravity casting for most of the positive plates. We are usingtin, calcium, lead alloys forthe grids in all of our product range.
