NEW F-35A TRAINING MISSION FOR ARKANSAS AIR GUARD

THE US Air Force (USAF) has selected Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Arkansas, as the preferred location for a planned multinational F-35A Foreign Military Sales (FMS) training detachment. The Arkansas Air National Guard facility, which is located at Fort Smith Regional Airport, will eventually support training for pilots from Poland and Singapore. The base will also be home to the Republic of Singapore Air Force's F-16 training unit, the 425th Fighter Squadron. The squadron is currently based at Luke Air Force Base (AFB), Arizona, as part of the 56th Fighter Wing, and operates 12 F-16C/Ds. It had previously been scheduled to relocate to the Morris Air National Guard Base at Tucson International Airport, Arizona. Relocation of the F-16C/Ds will likely occur in 2023.
