FIRST C-27J SPARTAN DELIVERED TO TURKMENISTAN

NEW-GENERATION Leonardo C-27J Spartan '20 Blue', still carrying Italian test serial C.S.X62319), departed from Turin-Caselle Airport, Italy, on June 6 on delivery to the Turkmenistan Air Force. After making an intermediate stop at Ankara Esenboga Havalimani International Airport, it arrived in Turkmenistan on the same day. While the manufacturer has not yet officially disclosed the customer for this aircraft, its arrival in Turkmenistan effectively confirms the end user. The aircraft had made its first flight at Turin-Caselle on August 5, last year. Meanwhile, the second C-27J for Turkmenistan, C.S.X62322, made its maiden flight at Turin-Caselle on May 25. It was noted again making a test flight there on June 5.
