Biomass to SNG via Woodroll~R process - Results from syngas preparation for catalytic conversion

The study reports on results from pilot tests of producer gas cleaning to a level required for a catalytic conversion of product gas to Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG). The product gas is generated by the WoodRoll~R biomass gasification process. The producer gas cleaning is based on reactive adsorption in a ZnO bed at 400°C. The pilot tests confirmed 95% reduction of the sulfur content keeping it at a level below of lOOppb, indicating the active role of ZnO. A hydrogen cyanide reduction of 64% was verified by the condensate composition.
