South Africa bill could ban cosmetics animal testing

A draft bill put forward by a South African member of parliament is seeking to ban the manufacture or sale of cosmetics that have been tested on animals in the country. MP Steven Swart proposed amending two Acts – the Animal Protection Act and the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act – to make the practice illegal.
