Pakistan aims to publish national chemicals policy by end of the year

Pakistan's Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) is reviewing a draft of the country's upcoming national chemicals management policy and expects to publish it by the end of the year, a top official has told Chemical Watch. Zaigham Abbas, deputy director of chemicals at the MoCC, said the policy is one of several initiatives underway to improve the sound management of chemicals and waste in the country (see box).
