Guest Column: Why opposition to a recent chromium trioxide approval is not so clear cut

On 22 February, the Committee on Legal Affairs of the European Parliament (Juri) decided by a narrow majority to take legal action against the European Commission's decision to allow a group of companies to continue using chromium trioxide. However, the vote was incredibly close, with 13 in favour, 11 against and one abstention, and based mainly on the findings of a legal opinion issued by the European Parliament's Legal Service.
