Echa biocides committee to revisit endocrine disruptor risk assessments

The European Commission has mandated Echa’s Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) to revisit two of its opinions on biocides with endocrine-disrupting properties. The outcome is expected to have wider implications for how substances like these are assessed in the future. The BPC decided last year that the biocidal active substances DBNPA and cyanamide have endocrine-disrupting (ED) properties and should therefore be candidates for substitution under the biocidal products Regulation (BPR).
