EU Commission adopts decisions authorising uses of chromium trioxide: Applications in functional chrome plating across various sectors

The European Commission has adopted decisions on REACH authorisation applications for certain uses of chromium trioxide. The substance is an SVHC on the REACH authorisation list – Annex XIV – for its carcinogenic and mutagenic properties. It had a sunset date of 21 September 2017. It is also a skin and respiratory sensitiser and suspected of toxicity to reproduction.
