Canada updates routine review process for existing confidentiality claims

The Canadian government has updated its approach for reviewing confidentiality claims for chemical identities older than 10 years to reflect lessons learned from a recently completed pilot phase. An approach document updated on 3 May reflects how the government continues to plan to review claims every ten years. Before releasing any chemical names, it will provide at least 30 days notice for companies to update their claims if they would like to maintain their confidential status.
