Japan proposes tightening workplace safety and mandatory GHS requirements

Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has published a study group report aimed at improving the safety of workers handling chemical substances. The report – How to manage chemicals in the workplace – proposes developing mandatory chemical risk management measures based on the sixth revised edition of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of classification and labelling of chemicals.
