California latest state to pass bill restricting firefighting foams containing PFAS

The California legislature has passed a bill to restrict the manufacture, sale and use of firefighting foams containing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). If signed into law, the restrictions would take effect in January 2022. Additionally, anyone selling personal protective gear containing PFAS would need to provide written notice to the buyer from the same date.
