Philippines extends deadline to register products containing hazardous substances

The Philippines Food and Drug Administration has extended the deadline to register and obtain a licence for certain products containing household/urban hazardous substances (HUHSs - see box) by more than a year because of delays resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the 24 May FDA Circular 2021-011, businesses now have until 31 December this year to register instead of 10 November 2020, as previously stated in FDA Circular 2020-0025 published on 19 August last year.
