China's cosmetics regulation to impose additional duties on importer representatives

Overseas companies that wish to sell cosmetics products on the Chinese market must ensure they choose a Chinese representative who can fulfil the additional responsibilities required under the Cosmetics Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR), an industry source has said. The comments follow China's National Medical Products Administration's (NMPA) publication of a FAQ document on registering and filing cosmetics under the CSAR, which came into force on 1 January.
