摘要

EU and EEA member states are divided in their support for the European Commission's potential introduction of new CLP hazard classes under its chemicals strategy, their feedback on the inception impact assessment for the revision of CLP shows. A rift in opinion at this early stage could signal that the Commission will face member state opposition as it rolls out changes to the legislation in the coming years. Several countries welcomed the Commission's proposal for new hazard classes (such as endocrine disruption) and corresponding criteria. Denmark's environment ministry said it had "strong support" for them and the criteria for endocrine disruptors (EDCs), as well as persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT), and persistent, mobile and toxic (PMT) substances.
