British battery startup to support local steel makers

Electric vehicle battery startup Britishvolt will support the British steel industry by using domestic steel in the construction of its Blyth-based factory. Britishvolt has demonstrated its commitment to the association of British manu? facturers by signing the UK Steel Charter, a new initiative aimed at maximising the amount of UK produced steel used in UK construction and infrastructure projects. Particularly, the producer intends to use local steel for the construction of the UK’s first EV battery gigaplant, Metal Expert learnt.
