A Turkish company booked ferrous scrap from the US. The deal was concluded at a higher level than expected and resulted in a mixed sentiment among market participants. In addition, one more deal from last week was reported. On January 27, a supplier from the US has sold a mixed batch to an Iskenderun- based mill with HMS 1&2 (80:20) priced at $416/t CFR, shredded material at $421/t CFR, and bonus at $426/t CFR, sources say. Considering the previous deal from the UK at $408/t for HMS 1&2 (80:20), the price of American material in the new contract slightly exceeded market expectations.
