India to initiate discussion about FTA with GCC

India is trying to resume talks with GCC members about a free trade agreement (FTA). Although there is no understanding of the result and schedule of the discussion, steel market players have already shared their opinions about the matter. India mulls the possibility to initiate talks about signing FTA with the GCC. The authorities believe that the stalled process may go forward after reportedly positive feedback from one of the members. “We are still considering the feasibility of an FTA. It is in the preliminary stage. We were negotiating an FTA with the GCC, but they had some issues. Now, they have approached us to revive the talks,” a local media reports, citing an official source.
