Lipoproteins have always had to be examined in bulk.They are the particles responsible for carrying triglycerides and fatty acids around the body,and they come in multiple types,some of which play an important role in forming the plaques that characterize heart disease.A technique to analyze them individually in their native environment could illuminate just what makes one lipopro-tein plaque up and another harmless.
