The Orthopedic Chief Resident Grand Rounds Presentations

It is an honor to present the 2021 Grand Rounds edition of the Bulletin of the Hospital for Joint Diseases. This issue comprises a collection of review articles authored by the graduating orthopedic residency class of 2020 in conjunction with the renowned faculty at New York University Langone Orthopedic Hospital. The publications touch on both innovative, pioneering developments, as well as cornerstone concepts in orthopaedic surgery. The diversity of topics presented reflects the breadth of the graduating class's interests. In the realm of hand surgery, the topics of peripheral nerve injuries and distal radioulnar joint instability are explored. In the field of sports medicine, the graduates discuss meniscal root pathology, Achilles tendon rupture management, and advances in arthroscopy. The adult reconstruction bound graduates provide reviews on the history of anterior total hip arthroplasty and explore current concepts with cementless fixation in total knee replacement. A future traumatologist examines the complex topic of distal humerus fractures. Lastly, the spine division presents a high impact review on the burgeoning field of endoscopic spine surgery.
