摘要

A new chromatographic hydrophobicity index (CHI) is describedwhich can be used as part of a protocol for high- throughput(50-100compounds/day) physicochemical property profiling for rational drugdesign. The index is derived from retention times(t_R) observed in afast gradient reversed-phase HPLC method. The isocratic retentionfactors (log k') were measured for a series of 76 structurallyunrelated compounds by using various concentrations of acetonitrilein the mobile phase.
