China independents join export bandwagon

Singapore-After a slow start, China’s independent refiners are finally stepping up efforts to overcome infrastructure hurdles and export oil products to use up their bulging quotas, a trend that could result in the new players exporting relatively higher volumes in the third quarter. Beijing has so far issued a total of 1.255 million mt of oil product export quotas to 10 new refineries for gasoline, gasoil, naphtha and jet fuel this year. But only five of them have actually exported oil products.
