Canada’s Husky to add new oil output

Calgary-Husky Energy will push ahead with adding 29,500 b/d of new heavy oil production capacity by the end of the year, with operating costs being maintained at less than C$10/b ($7/b) from those facilities in Western Canada, a senior company official said late Wednesday. In line with its efforts to develop a portfolio of assets with low sustaining costs, the company will deliver three new thermal heavy oil projects at Lloydminster in Saskatchewan with a total nameplate capacity of 24,500 b/d, Chief Operating Officer Rob Peabody said.
