Argentina looks to boost light crude imports

Buenos Aires—Argentina said Friday it would seek to import up to 56,610 b/d of light crude over the next year, helping to reduce imports of more costly diesel, fuel oil and gasoline, and increase exports of heavier crudes. A national hydrocarbons commission said in a resolution that the country’s five biggest refiners would be allowed to import crude under a new scheme through January 31, 2015.
