Gulf Keystone stabilizes Kurdish oil flows

Dubai-Production from the giant Shaikan oil field in Iraqi Kurdistan has been stabilized at about 23,000 b/d since late August and all foreign oil contractors have resumed work after earlier evacuations, the field’s operator Gulf Keystone Petroleum said Wednesday. Work was in progress to connect flow lines to additional Shaikan wells later this year, which would double the number of wells pumping heavy crude from the field to six from the current three, the London-listed com- pany said in a production and sales update on its most important asset.
