摘要

Sydney—US independent Anadarko has begun drilling the Caravel-1 deepwater exploration well in the Canterbury Basin off New Zealand’s South Island. Drilling of the well, located in 1,105 meters of water, began Tuesday and is expected to take around 40 days to reach 2,800 meters subsea, Australian joint venture partner Origin Energy said in a statement Wednesday. The well is in permit PEP 38264, which is held 45% each by Anadarko and Origin, and 10% by Discover Exploration.
