New York—US Gulf Coast refining margins have climbed over the past week, lifted by higher gasoline prices and a drop in spot crude supply costs, Platts data showed Thursday. Platts margins reflect the difference between a crude’s netback and its spot price. Netbacks are based on crude yields, which are calculated by applying Platts product price assessments to yield formulas designed by Turner, Mason & Co.
