Norway’s DNO secures extension in Somaliland

DNO ASA, the Norwegian oil and gas operator, said Monday it has received a two-year extension of its production sharing agreement for block SL18 in Somaliland. The Oslo-listed group, whose main producing asset is its 55% stake in the Tawke field in northern Iraq, said the first exploration period in Somaliland would now end November 8, 2017. DNO said block SL18, in which DNO has a 50% stake as operator, is a frontier exploration block.
