Iraq’s crude exports hold stable in July

Amman—Iraq’s crude exports rose slightly in July despite ongoing turmoil in the north of the country where Islamic militants threaten further territory gains against Iraqi and Kurdish forces. Iraq oil exports, which are all shipped from southern terminals in the Persian Gulf, averaged 2.442 million b/d in July from 2.423 million b/d in June, an increase of about 19,000 b/d, Iraqi oil ministry sources said Sunday. The July average represented a fall of 358,000 b/d from the 2.8 million b/d exported in February, which was the highest rate since 1979, just before the war with Iran.
